Parent Events

Parent involvement has long been a key to our success at Wigwam. There is no hard work for parents, just loads of fun. We start the school year off with a fun-filled Halloween open house which includes staff and children in costumes, participating in activities that have delighted parents for over 30 years.

November is a time for giving back. Wigwam provides and hosts an evening Thanksgiving Feast (catered turkey dinner) for family members. The staff serves parents and children, and everybody comes together to kick off the holiday season.

No parents are invited to our annual Grandparent’s Christmas Tea. This event is unique and allows for a special bonding day with grandchildren, complete with tea and scones, a sing along and photographs with our special guest, Santa himself.

February brings more than Valentines to our center. Parent Appreciation Week coincides with the holiday by offering a weeklong daily “Goody” and ends with a specially wrapped muffin of choice for the parents.

Spring brings our April monthlong Art Display of all the children’s projects at the Indian Valley Public Library. A reception is held for families at the library which includes snacks and staff interaction.

Graduation is a celebration of achievement that is not to be missed. Complete with Cap and Gowns, a ceremony and a slide show that walks down Memory Lane. Afterwards, there’s time for Hot Dogs, cake and free time in the splash park for everyone.
